From Romelda
About 40 minutes by transfer / drive to the park for a Game Drive, Rhino Walk, or Lake Cruise.
Wildlife & Lake
White rhino, plains game, and wild bays on Lake Mutirikwi, about 40 minutes from Romelda by road.
Kyle Recreational Park, also called Lake Mutirikwi Recreational Park, wraps the northern lakeshore near Romelda. It is one of Zimbabwe’s most scenic parks: granite outcrops, Miombo woodland, and a thriving white rhino population in a landscape without elephant or lion. That mix makes game viewing intimate and, with a parks scout, walking possible for guests aged 8 and over.

Wildlife
The park is known for white rhino and more than twenty-five mammal species. Guests regularly see buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, waterbuck, impala, warthog, and hippo along the shoreline. Leopard are present but shy. Without elephant pressure, woodland and grassland stay open and game is often relaxed for viewing from a vehicle or, carefully, on foot.

On the Water
A Lake Cruise from Romelda slips into National Parks bays where rhino and plains game can appear from the water. Herons, egrets, storks, and ducks work the shallows; Miombo specials and fish eagles mark the wooded shores. Fishing for bass and bream is part of the lake’s draw, with National Parks fishing fees separate from Romelda’s activity rates.

Explore
Most Romelda guests take a 40-minute transfer and drive to the park for a Game Drive with optional Rhino Walk, or for a Lake Cruise on the park waters. Expect granite kopjes, quiet tracks, and time to stop for tea overlooking the lake. National Parks conservation and activity fees apply separately and support protection on the ground.
