Conservation

Kyle Conservation Alliance

Protecting wildlife, habitat, and the lake landscape around Romelda.

The Kyle Conservation Alliance is a non-profit organisation bringing together partners around Lake Mutirikwi and Kyle Recreational Park. Work on the land and water includes habitat protection, wildlife awareness, and responsible access for guests who visit from Romelda.

On the water, efforts focus on controlling illegal netting so fish stocks and the lake ecology can recover. On land, the alliance supports anti-poaching and the clearing of invasive species such as Lantana in the park, helping native woodland and wildlife return.

When you join a Game Drive, Rhino Walk, or Lake Cruise, National Parks fees support conservation on the ground. We collect applicable fees on behalf of the association where required and encourage guests to travel lightly on the land and water.

We suggest a US$10 donation per booking to the Kyle Conservation Alliance, and welcome any further gifts that strengthen conservation in this pristine area. Ask us when you enquire how your stay can help.
